# Grab Mechanics

What happens to the selected Virtual Object when grabbed.

A grab mechanic defines what happens to the selected Virtual Object (VO) when a user grabs it. Choose one with the **Grab Type** field in [General](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/general.md).

* [Basic](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/basic.md): the default grab. The object goes to the hand that grabbed it.
* [Slider](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/slider.md): the VO slides along one of its axes.
* [Rotator](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/rotator.md): the VO rotates around a specified axis.
* [Dragger](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/dragger.md): the VO is dragged by the hand or controller that grabbed it.
* [Grabber](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/grabber.md): grabbed like the basic grab, but can grab again.
* [Climbable](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/authoring-a-simulation/inspector/grab-mechanics/climbable.md): the VO can be used to climb (VR only).
