# Import Model as Virtual Person (VP)

A virtual person is a character model with a humanoid rig. It is packaged and uploaded like a [virtual object](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/virtual-entities/vx-publisher/import-model-as-virtual-object-vo.md), with **Type** set to **Person**.

1. Open **Tools > VX Packager**.
2. Under **1. Import**, add the character model (.fbx) and its textures, enter an **Asset Name** and set **Type** to **Person**.
3. Click **Import**. The model is imported with a **Humanoid** rig so HyperSkill can animate it. If the result reports that no valid humanoid avatar was created, open the model's import settings, go to the **Rig** tab and configure the avatar.
4. Open the prefab and check that the character stands on the ground at position 0,0,0, at real-world size.
5. Under **2. Package**, check that **Type** is **Person** and click **Package + Upload**. With **Default Collider** set to **Auto**, a capsule collider that fits the character is added when the prefab has no collider.

As with virtual objects, packaging the asset again updates the same virtual person. See [Update an uploaded VO](/hyperskill-studio-authoring/virtual-entities/vx-publisher/import-model-as-virtual-object-vo.md#update-an-uploaded-vo).
