# Scoring & Feedback

Scoring Feedback lets you evaluate learner performance inside a simulation using structured criteria and measurable actions. It connects what the learner does in a simulation to a set of skills, scores, and feedback, so you can assess progress, surface strengths or gaps, and support consistent review across multiple user sessions.

### How scoring feedback works

Scoring Feedback starts with a competency model. The model defines the skills, behaviors, or outcomes you want to assess in a simulation. To learn more about competency models, visit the [competency models page](/scoring-and-feedback/competency-models.md).

Through the use of competency models, the scoring feedback feature allows users to measure performance consistently, compare sessions, and review results across tools like HyperSkill, SimGenie, and the dashboard.
