Competency models
Competency models, also known as ontologies, define the skills a simulation scores.
Competency models, also known as ontologies, are the main tool behind the Scoring Feedback feature. They define the skills (also called user attributes) and the scoring structure used to evaluate learner performance during a simulation. This lets a simulation connect user actions to measurable skills and produce consistent performance ratings and skill mastery percentages.
Results from a competency model are logged to the learner's account and used to track performance over time. This is different from a score shown only inside a simulation, which is not logged to user data. See How scores work.

How the three tools fit together
Competency models rely on SimGenie, HyperSkill Studio and HyperSkill Platform together:
SimGenie: models are created and managed here. See Competency models in SimGenie.
HyperSkill Studio: models are deployed here to power scoring inside simulations. See Competency models in HyperSkill.
HyperSkill Platform: the resulting scores and session data are reviewed here. See Competency models in the HyperSkill Platform.
For how the resulting numbers are calculated, see How scores work.
